What are the types of Listed Buildings?

If you already have a policy with us, we can insure your property if it is Grade B, C or Grade 2 Listed. Unfortunately Allianz does not cover Grade I or Grade A properties but you may be able to obtain cover through our sister company www.homeandlegacy.co.uk

There are three categories of listed buildings. The obligations on you to restore your home after accidental damage will vary dependent on which category your home is classified under.

In England and Wales the categories are:

Grade I buildings are of exceptional interest which usually have international importance.
Grade II* buildings are particularly important buildings of more than special interest.
Grade II buildings are nationally important and of special interest.

In Scotland, the categories are:

Grade A buildings of exceptional interest which usually have international importance.
Grade B buildings are particularly important buildings of more than special interest.
Grade C buildings are nationally important and of special interest.
